Whether you are in your first trimester or last, you and baby can expect to be cradled into deep relaxation and comfort during your PREGNANCY MASSAGE. Pillows are positioned to ensure safety and comfort to both mother and baby while laying in the sidelying position on the table. Upon oil application, light to medium pressure are applied with long and flowing strokes. Some pushing and pulling techniques with light and slow passive movements are done at the shoulder and hip joints to relieve pressure. Following the massage you can best be sure you and baby will be ready for a nap.

"Amber, I wanted to thank you so much for taking such good care of me during my labor and birth of my son. You made it so I could have the unmedicated birth I wanted, by anticipating my needs, helping me relax during intense contractions and showing a true overall caring concern for my wellbeing. I really don't think I could have done it without you! You advocated for what I wanted and made me feel very well taken care of. Thank you for making the birth of our son an experience both positive and rewarding and for helping me have the birth I wanted. Thank you for the bottoms of our hearts!"

Massage as a Labor/Birth Alternative
Having the experience as a volunteer doula at UCSD medical, I have had the pleasure of helping laboring and birthing mothers. If you are looking into alternative birth options, massage therapy may be an option for you. Call to discuss your birth plan to see if this is a match for you.
NOTE: Despite mother and therapist's best efforts, all births are different and medical intervention may be needed or used to ensure the safety and wellbeing to both mother and baby. Massage therapy is in conjunction with your doctor or midwife and not used as an alternative to either, but rather as an adjunct therapy to help facilitate and cope through labor.
